The Perfect Wedding Location
As a Christian Community, we would invite you to consider having your wedding held in our beautiful sanctuary. If you would like to consider having the service done here, please contact Darlene in the church office (905-655-8852). Darlene will give you all of the details around cost and days and hours available.
Columbus Community United Church is an ideal location for most weddings. Our lovely historical sanctuary holds up to 200 guests comfortably and our grounds provide picturesque photographs. Ample parking is available.
Wedding License
It is required by the Province of Ontario to secure a License to Marry. This is available at City Hall.
The Wedding Ceremony
We encourage you to utilize the very capable staff at our church, but if you would like to use someone else to perform the service, or to provide music, we would be willing to take that into consideration.
Music for the Ceremony
Consultation with the pianist should take place regarding the music for the wedding service. Our pianist, Anthony Alexander, provides wonderful musicianship. Should you choose to use him, he can be hired to create a personal song in honour of your special love. Anthony can be reached at 416-882-1967 or apalex12@gmail.com.
Rehearsal
It is our wish that every wedding proceeds with beauty and dignity. We, therefore, suggest that a rehearsal be held prior to the wedding. The date and time of the rehearsal can be scheduled with the Minister at the time the wedding is booked or at a later date. Please note that our pianist, Anthony Alexander, is not available for rehearsals.
Photography and Videography
Although photography is encouraged, the taking of flash photographs is not recommended during the ceremony. Your photographer will have ample opportunity for picture taking after the ceremony and as you leave the church after the wedding. Video cameras are allowed, however, the videographer should be prepared to meet with the Minister prior to the ceremony to discuss the placement of equipment.
Grounds
You are welcome to use the grounds of the church, both before and after the ceremony, for taking photographs. We do ask that you do not use confetti or rice but suggest bubbles as a fun, environmentally friendly alternative.
Thank you for considering Columbus Community United Church for your Wedding Ceremony!
